Runaway Slave Movie Premiere and a Crazy Liberal Thief

Friday we went to see Runaway Slave. Anastasia wanted to rally on the corner of 611 & County Line road. She ran it by a few people and I and two other people said, "Nah."
And she said, "HELL YEAH - why waste a good opportunity." **Lesson Learned.
We had enough people to form a line down the 611 side and the County Line road side.
We waved signs that said, "End of an Error (obama)" and my famous "Obama Kills (jobs, economy, constitution, etc)" - and of course, we had our flags!
Most people honked or gave us thumbs up - but there were a few people who flipped us the bird. And then this crazy lady who called us racist and fascist. Fascist? Wouldn't that be Obama? He's seeking to turn us into a welfare state - and he is successful at that. Food Stamps and Welfare have doubled as jobs are drying up and the over regulations his placing on small business and energy companies is forcing the closure of  layoffs of thousands.
Anyway - the movie Runaway Slave was simply wonderful. Even former Democrats who saw the movie learned things. There is a line in the movie that talks about running away from Big Government - and there is also a line about how those in power seek to divide the blacks from the whites and that's why they keep rubbing salt in past wounds - why they inflame the racist rhetoric - instead of saying "We are all brothers and sisters REGARDLESS of our color." So the line in the movie "Run fast, run harder..." (away from Big Government)  is perfect...but I'd like to add, "Run TOGETHER"

Runaway Slave - Showing at the Regal Warrington in Pa

Update: It's time conservatives take on Liberal Hollywood. You must see Runaway Slave. It's great!
Event: 7/27/12 - Runaway Slave Movie
When: Friday, July 27th, 2012
Rally: 5:45PM at the corner of RT 611 & County Line Road
Movie: 6:40PM in the theater
After: Meet and greet/discuss/mingle at Ruby Tuesday's (8:30+/-)
Where: Regal Warrington Crossing Stadium 22
104 Easton Road, Bldg F
Warrington, PA  18976

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your phone calls to the Regal Warrington in Pa asking (demanding!) that they show the movie "Runaway Slave."
It worked.
It will be arriving on July 27th (Friday). Show times are 12:50 pm, 3:30 pm, 6:40pm, 9:25 pm. I'll be attending the Friday night showing at 6:40 and then anyone interested in mingling and discussing the movie will be heading on over to Ruby Tuesdays, which is located in the same parking lot as The Regal Warrington. If you are on Twitter, we will be Tweeting using the #runawayslave tag at the end of each Tweet in order to get Runaway Slave trending on Twitter so that it will receive national recognition. If you attend a different showing, please Tweet during your movie with that hashtag also - if every one tweets during (or after) the movie - we could have #runawayslave trending for a week!!!
Please attend the Friday night show or a show during the weekend. Not only does this movie have a fabulous message, but it applies to everyone - black, white, yellow, rainbow, etc. And it truly is an entertaining movie as well. This is a picture of me with CL Bryant. He is awesome.
Bring your family, bring some friends - the message of this movie is clear and one that everyone must learn - when the Government promises to give you help in the form of food/money - they enslave you to the government plantation. Handouts (not handups) erode your self confidence, your independence. We need to look no further than the black community and the incredible struggles they face (highest rate of aborted babies, highest unemployment, 40% of prison population).
Thanks again for all your help in getting this movie into the Regal Warrington - I hope to see you there! If you're going to the 6:40 showing on 7/27 - you may want to purchase your ticket in advance:

CONSPIRACY THEORIES ARE KILLING ME

Sunday I was very excited to meet up with the co-founders of Citizens for Liberty . We met at Whole Foods in Plymouth meeting which was awesome. Love that place! They sell win and beer and they have a roof top deck with a taco truck!
It was shaping up to be a good meeting.
We were meeting to talk about action steps to take and brainstorm ideas. Somehow, we got off the subject and conspiracy theories started flying around.
Some other people had joined us - people I've seen at other meetings who seem to be focused on conspiracy theories, complaining about what is wrong with the Obama administration, and doing little else.
I've attended many local Tea Party meetings and the only 2 I've found that WALK the TALK are Citizens for Liberty and Kitchen Table Patriots. The other meetings simply complain about things, come up with ideas, but either need to "run the ideas" past a board for approval or there are no follow ups. So frustrating.
I left feeling deflated.

There are many "keyboard conspirators." Those people who seem to focus on doing nothing but talking about conspiracies from the comfort of their computer keyboard. The only action they take is to attend a meeting and spread their theories and/or complain.
So many of these people are college educated successful people!
Also - the right seems so splintered. The abortion fanatics - the religious fanatics - the conspiracy theorists - the homophobics...it's no wonder the left views us the way they do.

If only all these "groups" would realize we need to fix the foundation of the house first before we worry about "decorating" so to speak.

I'd say MOST OF US on both sides agree that our politicians should WORK for US. That AMERICA is about liberty, freedom, and LIMITING the Government - not RELYING on the Government. The government should be expected to be FISCALLY responsible! No less than we, as citizens, are expected to spend money we have and live within our means.

That is what we should be focusing on. Not implants in peoples brains, birth certificates that may or may not be phony.

Obama's actions - many politicians on BOTH sides of the aisle- have proven to us they are more concerned with their own greed - for money, for power - that is ALL WE NEED to focus on. It's all right there, in front of us - but the more time people spend focusing on birth certificates the more kooky they appear, and the more Obama can get away with his lack of action or the actions he has taken to turn USA into a welfare state beholden to the government.

Then I met Steve again today at PJ Whelihan's - one on one - to talk about strategy and taking action. We spent almost 2 hours talking - and I left revived and more determined than ever.

I realized life is too short to bother with those focused on conspiracy theories - those focused ONLY on social issues. Let's concentrate on fixing our foundation, on creating a safe "home" - making sure our walls are strong, our roof is secure - and that we've hired the right team to work on our house. I picture Obama and his team as shady contractors who promise to fix the cracks in the foundation - but while they are in your home, purposely tamper with the wiring, the plumbing, etc - so that you will have to call them back time and time again. It keeps them in business.

We need to find honest contractors to repair our home - our home being USA. Once we find and hire those people - once our house is sturdy and secure - then we can work on decorating (social issues). What's the point in universal healthcare if we, as a country, are so broke, we can't afford to staff hospitals?

Let's get back to the basics people - it's what we've been demanding of ALL our politicians -and it's what we should demand of ourselves.

Ego Alert: Laura Freed Makes The Cover of Bucks County Life Magazine!

Okay, so did a few other people...still...

I can't tell you how shocked I was when I received the initial email from Bucks Life Magazine  asking me to be a part of their summer edition magazine.

Being a Conservative in these parts of Bucks County is often challenging.   Often times, if magazines or news bothers to feature us, it's generally in an unfavorable light.

So, Kudos to Bucks Life Magazine for reaching out to me, and allowing me to pay homage to my favorite shops, restaurants, and other places around Bucks County - please note - all of these places were built through sweat and determination by individuals - their success comes from the work of their hands and the help of family, friends, and community - it was not built by "the government." (Take that, Obama!)
Please buy a copy of Bucks Life (found at Wegmans, and bookstores and various other places!) to show your thanks to a magazine that gives voice to ALL Bucks County residents!

I am available for autographs -  charging only a nominal fee that will go to support the Laura Freed Bacon & Martini Fund.

Door Knocking and Phone Banking - Do Not Be Afriad

Action Team gathered in front of Acme.

July 21st - Door Knocking

I spent a couple of hours with the most awesome beautiful Ana Puig of the Kitchen Table Patriots.

We were in Newtown, door knocking for Anne Chapman and John Maher. Both are running on the platform of fiscal responsibility - something that we all know is seriously missing.

When I first got involved in politics and heard about door knocking and phone banking - I was like, "Uh, NO THANK YOU!"

A) I don't answer my phone if I don't recognize the number. And I HATE talking on the phone.
B) I hate when people show up at my house peddling magazines, fundraisers, etc.

But, I bit the bullet and plunged right in - phone banking at the Romney Victory Center in Doylestown and door knocking for the Romney Victory Center in Montgomery County and for Anne Chapman and John Maher in Newtown, Bucks County.

It's really not that bad - and like life, you get out of it what you put into it. If you approach it with a fun attitude, you'd be surprised at how fast the time flies. And what I've discovered is...there ARE people that enjoy talking on the phone. There are people who love the chance to spout off about the dismal state Obama and the Democrats (and RHINOS) have placed America in - they don't mind us dropping by their house!

It's also a chance to meet other people who are passionate about restoring our liberty and freedom and holding elected politicians accountable.

If you are like I was, and think NO WAY to phone banking or Door Knocking - give it a chance. And remember, the more of us that take action, the more chance we have of defeating Obama and SAVING AMERICA on November 6th!!!

You Didn't Build That!

Have you ever wondered how someone could be completely out of touch with reality? That is what I thought of last Friday when I saw that President Obama said:

“You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something -- there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there. If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business -- you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen.”

I am the son of a small business owner, the son of a teacher, and a firm believer that no matter what my circumstances were I could succeed if I put my mind to it. But the President says no! The President’s definition of the American Dream is completely different from mine! I can’t afford someone who thinks that way to continue to lead my country! If you stand with me then NOW is the time to make a change!

Join with me as we contact EVERY independent and swing voter in Bucks County! Our hours are Monday- Saturday 9am to 9pm! Schedule your next time to come in today!

Obama Voters Uninformed or Ignorant?

Steve P - who co-founded Citizens For Liberty in Conshohocken, Pa - shot this hilarious yet disturbing video of uninformed people who are  voting for Obama. Solution? Wake people up. You can do the very same thing as Steve did - you don't even need a video camera! And after they agree with what they believe is an Obama policy - politely inform them it's really a Romney policy. If anything, it will make them search out information. Hopefully. If not...we are truly doomed!!!

Democrat Loses It On Tea Party at Synagogue in Elkins Park

UPDATE: Breitbart posted our video on their website. Hopefully this man will realize he's a bad representation  for a party who portends to elevate and protect women, though we've all seen that this is far too typical. http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-TV/2012/07/17/Democrat-Loses-It-On-Tea-Party-at-Synagogue-in-Elkins-Park
And The Drudge Report also listed it. Nadda from our Philly news agencies. No surprise there, right?!

During a public event at the Reform Congregation - Keneseth Israel in Jenkintown, Pa for Obama (which no Republicans were invited to speak at) - We arrived to find Myron Goldman - a Jewish American for Romney handing out literature. He was told to leave. 10 minutes later, Steve (from Citizens For Liberty) and I were listening to Josh Shapiro talk about how TOLERANT the Democrats are and how they welcome other opinions (yet they tried to throw Mr. Goldman off the property). At the end of the event, I stood in the parking lot with my sign that said Obama has killed (among other things) Jobs, the coal industry, and the Constitution. Things got very heated as a Democrat told one person to "Go F*ck Themself" and then he proceeded to get in my face, bump his chest into me, and told me he was going to break my camera. To be fair, there were 2 lovely Democrat ladies at the end who stopped and said they appreciated our right to be there and voice our opinion. Debbie Wasserman Schultz spoke at this event - the same Debbie Wasserman Schultz who said the Tea Party lacks civility - if you watch this video - I'd say actions speak louder than Debbie's lying accusations. - Special Thanks to Steve - Co-Founder of Citizens For Liberty for attending the event with me, taking video, keeping me laughing, and stepping in when things got a bit crazy.

COP Diary - Toomey, Door Blitzing, Cotton Candy Martinis.

Senator Pat Toomey and Sgt. Robert Allen Mansfield
 July 14th 2012
Conservative Outlaw Princess Diary,

Saturday started off rainy and humid but I jumped out of bed and couldn't wait to start the day.
Senator Toomey was arriving at the Conshohocken Victory Center  to lend his support to local politicians , Romney, and Tom Smith's bid to take back America and put it back on the road to real recovery.
I love Toomey. I subscribe to his Twitter updates and receive emails from GovTrack.com  everytime he votes for a bill. He always votes the way I'd want him to - limiting Government power.
The Conshy Victory Center is bright and staffed by young, passionate, Romney reps. Perry Bentley is the contact person and he is warm and welcoming. I loved that they had a Keurig coffee maker, and tables loaded with snack food!
Citizens For Liberty Steve & Jill on our Door Blitz.
After we heard a motivational message from Toomey - about how Obama has driven the economy far off the road, I joined the co-founder of Citizens for Liberty, Steve, and Jill (she writes our PA economy column every Friday) - and we walked the neighborhoods taking a survey for the Victory Center. The good news is, most people felt that Obama was doing a horrible job as President - the bad news - there were some people who felt he was doing a great job. "He's been blocked by the GOP." Hmmm, really? He got Obamacare and we got a new tax, more unemployment, and doctors moving out of country or quitting. He got his tarp money and what did we get from that? Our unemployment has not dipped below 8% in 3.5 years. Gas has increased by almost 2 dollars and remained there.
Anyway -
John & I in Jim Thorpe
After our door blitz - John and I drove up to Jim Thorpe. Jim Thorpe is a quaint small town up North and is full of mom and pop shops/pubs. Did you know our own  film maker Matt Perdie lives in Thorpe and his family owns a great restaurant called Through The Looking Glass  (most excellent cheddar biscuit chicken sandwiches). Today, we tried a new place - The Broadway Grille which was fabulous. I had a 'cotton candy' martini and it was red, white, and blue - how perfectly fitting is that!
I spent summers in Nesquehoning with my grandparents - which is about 10 minutes from Jim Thorpe.
Thorpe has been enjoying a tourist influx for the past few years - which is great for business - but as we were walking around town, I noticed many liberals. 2 thinks I can always spot - pedophiles and Liberals! I wanted to shake these people and say, "Do you realize Jim Thorpe was built by the coal industry! Do you realize your Insane President Obama is over-regulating small businesses to death and driving them to shut their doors?"
UGH.
But, whatever. I've no doubt people are slowly waking up. Every town I visit has been marked by Obama; boarded up empty store fronts with "FOR LEASE" signs that are weathered and faded.
I've pledged to spend the rest of my life protecting the Constitution - and policing those we send to Washington. Every day I will take action to make a positive difference  - but I'm also going to have fun doing it!
XO
Laura

Mint Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Popsicles

Mint Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Popsicles
from GoodLifeEats

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon pure peppermint extract
1 (8 ounce) tub frozen whipped topping, thawed
12 Andes Creme de Menthe Cookies, finely chopped (see note below)
Magic Shell, optional
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, with an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese and sugar on medium-high speed until smooth and creamy, about 3 minutes. Add in the extracts and mix until well combined, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed. Using a rubber spatula, fold in the whipped topping until until it is fully incorporated into the cream cheese mixture. Fold in mint chocolate cookies.
2. Spoon the filling into a pastry bag or large zip top bag. Snip enough of the end off the bag to allow you pipe the mixture into your popsicle molds. Once your molds are full, gently tap the popsicle mold base on the countertop to help release any air pockets. Freeze according the manufacturers directions.
3. If desired, garnish each popsicle with Magic Shell and chopped cookies.
Tip: If you have an issue releasing your popsicles from the molds, run a little warm water along the sides of the molds, this will usually cause them to release with ease.
Notes:
- If you cannot find the Andes Creme de Menthe Cookies, feel free to substitute Mint Oreos.
- I have not attempted this recipe with a substitute for the frozen whipped topping (Cool Whip).
- Due to the soft texture of this recipe, it is not recommended for use in a Zoku Quick Pop Maker.

Raising For Romney - Fire Obama - Hire Romney

Ah - the power of the internet...
I received a couple of Tweets from @raising4Romney - asking me to submit a short video about why people should fire Obama and Vote for Mitt Romney.( ME? Make a video? Y'all know how shy I am...)
Not more than an hour later, I was standing in the Romney Victory Center in Conshohocken, Pa...and working the phones, sitting next to local Patriot Jill Herring (who writes the PA economy report every Friday for us) - was Matt Stern - the brains behind Raising4Romney (link).
For the good of my Country, I decided to overcome my shyness and make a video for Raising From Romney - I focused on 2 of my favorite things: Freedom & Bacon.
So, here it is....and please - consider shooting your own 30 second video (or a little more) video and sending it to Video@Raising4Romney.com - or, if you make a video and upload it yourself to Youtube, simply send Matt the link.
C'mon Patriots - show those Libs they don't own Social Media - show them we're passionate about bringing power back to the people - FIRING OBAMA - and replacing him with someone who knows how to turn around failing entities and make them successful (MA, Olympics, Brookstone, Domino's Pizza, Sealy Corporation, Sports Authority, Staples).

Move On, Romney Victory Center, Fried Pickles

Pizza at the Romney Victory Center

So...on Thursday night, I was altered to the fact that  Move On was going to stand in front of the Romney Victory Headquarters protesting the fact that Romney hasn't released his full tax returns on Friday, Fuly 13th (Friday the 13th...aaahhh ahhh ahh).
Really? So what are they implying...that Romney is hiding something?
If that's the case, why did it take Obama almost 4 years to produce his birth certificate? Why has he STILL not released his college transcripts?
Anyway, so I wanted to "counter protest" and invited some of my "social media" Patriot friends (who'd I actually met - but met them initially through Twitter!) to meet me at the Romney Victory Headquarters and "counter protest" the Move On Group.
I arrived at 11:00 (Move On was to arrive at 12:00) and Blake Gober, who runs the Victory center - put us to work "Dialing For Romney."
The Doylestown Victory Center is located in the basement of the GOP headquarters. I like things BRIGHT. This, was not bright. But, a positive is...Blake is young and full of energy and....LOVES HOCKEY (specifically, the Red Wings...but, whatever). And...he also bought us pizza.
Well, 12:00 came and went. I thought for sure if the protesters showed up, we'd be told about it by the people working on the first floor.
Around 12:45 - The Double Marcs, Bob, Ken, and I headed to MOMS (Maxwells on Main Street) to sit down, talk, and REALLY get to know each other.
I ordered a martini and FRIED PICKLES (not the BEST place for fried pickles, but still, pretty good) - and settled in the booth at my most favorite bar in Doylestown and got to know these great local Patriots who realize the value of Social Media, AND Action.
Fried Pickles at MOMS
Each had a personal story that I found moving...but no matter what propelled them into taking action, the underlying reason was the same: We All Love America and Our Freedom, and we've all recognized that Big Govt has eroded our Liberty, the Constitution, and our (the people) power.
I also discovered the MOVE ON people DID show up...but they were few and only stayed for about 10 minutes. I was ticked no one had bothered to tell us...but...whatever. I did feel disappointed, and called Crazy John, who has been involved in politics for YEARS. CJ knows I HATE talking on the phone, so when he realized I was calling, he picked up the phone and ASSURED me that we'd have plenty of time between now and 11/6/2012 to counteract the lies/rhetoric that Libs/Dems are spewing. He put the zing back in my zip (does that sound dirty? It's totally not meant to be!)
All in all...it was a great day and I got to know the heart and soul of 4 great Patriots.
Please follow these Patriots on "The Twitter":

Municipal bankruptcy for San Bernardino & Stockton, CA – Now Scranton, PA?!  It’s hitting home folks!

Scranton municipal workers’ pay has been cut to minimum wage $7.25/hr. because for years Scranton’s mayors, city council, & municipal finance dept. have chosen deficit spending, debt increases and unsustainable vote-getting promises to city pensions!!!  The pay cuts affect 400 employees, police, firefighters and garbage collectors and potentially impact all city residents’ taxes and future.  Scranton’s budget problem is Math 101 – as of 7/10 it has $10,000 in cash and owes $3.4 Million to vendors.  Tax increases on a city with an older population and last-century industrial base is NOT a resolution.

As we have seen in Wisconsin, New Jersey, Ohio, and many other states with sky-rocketing pension increases decade after decade, whether municipal, state or federal workers, the Tea Party’s  solution stands as the rational and common sense approach:  government discipline, truth and integrity.

Bucks County Teenage Republican Committee - Our Future Is In Great Hands!

Tony Sposato at the Bucks County Teenage Republican Committee

So, I've been following the Bucks County Teenage Republican Committee on Facebook - and following Brandon Posner - on Twitter (link) after he showed up at the Freedom Works Ivyland weekend bootcamp in a suit and tie and was the youngest person in the room. He could have been the great great grandson to some of the attendees! I was intrigued by him because I remember when I was a teenager, I had little idea what was going on in DC...nor did I really care.
So I decided to go to their meeting last night and see what it was all about...and I was blown away by their knowledge! They are professional yet laid back at the same time. They make some of the Tea Party meetings I've attended look like nothing more than a whine and cheese puff party. Their advisers, Curt and Meghan are warm, friendly, easy going.
They had 3 guests - all who blew me away and were very informative!
There was Republican  Tony Sposato - running for PA State House of Reps (district 141). I have to say, he told me he was 60 but I would have put him at late 40's - early 50's! He really opened my eyes to the greed of teachers unions. Did you know in the state of PA, if a township runs out of money - they can't lay off teachers - they cut school programs instead. Did you know that no matter how horrible a teacher is - it takes jumping through a ton of hoops to let them go? Tony is in favor of rewarding great teachers with better pay and bonuses - and also in favor of putting students and parents needs on par with the teachers. He was really impressive and warm. Didn't speak for-everrrrrrrrr like I've noticed some politicians do.
There was also some reps from Tom Smith's campaign. Tom Smith is running for senate. I'd only heard "rumors" about Tom Smith so it was great meeting Nick Fountain - the Eastern Pa Field Rep, as well as Joe Gale. Tom Smith is a self made millionaire. After graduating highschool - he put off college to stay home and help take care of his father, who was ill, and to work on the family farm. He also drove a school bus for extra income. He married his highschool sweetheart. 24 years after highschool, he mortgaged everything he had to start a coal business. He spent the next 21 years building a series of highly successful companies. He retired and sold everything in 2010. He never planned on getting involved in politics. But when he saw what was happening to our country - to the coal industry which he knew was a great source of energy as well as an awesome job creator, he knew he had to do something. He joined a Tea Party. And then...he decided to run for Senate.
You know what I'd "heard" about him? This is what everyone was yapping about at Tea Parties. "He's a former DEMOCRAT." (cue gasps)
I asked Nick about that.
Oh, yes. He was a Conservative Democrat. You know why? Because unions in the coal industry are Democrat. If you look at who he's donated to - it's always been republicans!
I've found the best "politicians" are those like Tony and Tom - people who had no intention of having a career in politics - but were so moved by the corrupted state, by the failing policies, that they feel they MUST GET INVOLVED.
Then Blake Gober from the Bucks County Romney Victory Center talked about working the phones and getting out there and doing door to door campaigning. Something he doesn't LOVE, but does love the great results it brings.
It was a really great meeting. Short. To the Point. Informative. I left feeling good about our future.
These young kids, Tony Sposato and Tom Smith - they all represent true Hope and Change for the better!

A Conservatives Easy Guide To Using Twitter

Is restoring America worth 5 minutes of your time every day?
Twitter –  The Most Valuable Social Media Tool in 2012!!! www.Twitter.com

From John Nolte: “I'm convinced that by ending the left's corrupt bottleneck of the flow of information, Twitter has become the most important political invention since the American Constitution; and like that document, we must cherish, protect, and use it.”

Don’t be intimated. Very easy to sign up and use.

Best to use your real  name  - but if you need to keep it private, that’s okay. Pick something easy to remember so you can tell other people. If people can’t spell your last name – don’t use it!
Use a picture for your avatar. Good to use photo of yourself, but perfectly fine if you use something else (picture of American flag, your dog, a flower, etc.)
In your profile, make sure to mention that you are for small government – Conservative, etc.

Follow me @HeyLauraFreed

Take a look at my “lists” (on the left hand side of the screen) and follow those who interest you.
Patriots – local Tea Party groups who I’ve met at various Tea Party meetings. Get to know these people – we are all family!

PA Legislators  by AFP Pennsylvania
TCOT/TLOT Politicians (a list of tea party/libertarian supported politicians)
BuxMontPoliticians  Bucks/Montgomery County Politicians
LocalPaPatriots – a list of local Patriots who I’ve “met” on Twitter .
Spirited  - a list of Conservatives who are funny/have a lot of spirit.

The Hashtag. #

This is what we call a hashtag: # - Simply put - the use of  a hashtag before a word is used as a way to put extra emphasis on the meaning of your tweet - OR - as a way of being included in a group or event. The use of the # also helps you find people with similar interests. And also - using # helps when you are talking about current events - like Fast and Furious or the ruling on Obamacare.

1- Say you send out this Tweet: "No jobs, no budget. #Fail #Obama."
The # added before the word Fail and Obama puts extra emphasis on those words - as if to shine a spotlight on them.

2- Say you and attending a rally in DC. Say the rally is sponsored by FreedomWorks - if you send out a Tweet while you're at the rally - you would add #FWRally at the end of your tweet - so signify that you are attending the rally. Everyone who is at the rally would also add #FWRally at the end of their tweets, and that way, you can use the "search" feature on Twitter to plug in #FWRally - and you'll be able to see what other people who attending are saying about the rally - or start following those people if you aren't already following them.

Often - there will be what we call "Hashtag Wars." This pits Conservatives VS Liberals. Here's an article from Twitchy.Com that gives a good example of a #War. http://twitchy.com/2012/06/30/battle-of-the-movie-hashtags/

3) Similar Interests - Say you love tulips. You want to find other people who love tulips as much as you do so you can follow them and share stories about tulips... in the search bar on Twitter - you plug in #tulips - and up pops a list of people who use the word #tulips in their tweets. Now say you're going to plant them but you need advice - you could search for key words to find and follow (or to ask someone for help) using key words like #flowers #garden #planting.

One last use for the #. That is finding a topical subject. When "Obamacare" was somewhat held up by the Supreme Court - anytime someone tweeted about the decision - they would "tag" their tweet with words that defined an aspect of the topic - #Obamacare #Roberts #NewTax #ImpeachRoberts #TaxMandate -

Finally - here is a list of popular # that Conservatives use to signal their solidarity - it shows

#tcot : stands for Top Conservatives on Twitter.
#teaparty: As the name implies.
#tlot: stands for Top Libertarians on Twitter: This one nearly rivals #tcot in terms of how much its used.
#sgp: stands for Smart Girl Politics, which is a conservative women's movement.
#iamthemob: This hashtag started after some Democrats in Congress labeled those protesting socialized medicine as a mob.
#Twisters = A tightly knit group of superpower wielding, patriotic, conservative bad-asses of the female kind.
#lnyhbt - Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled - the Sean Hannity Twitter Army.
#tpot: stands for Top Patriots on Twitter.
#gop: This hashtag is usually used when tweeting about the Republican Party.
#catcot: California Conservatives

If you see a #word you are curious about - simply Google it - or don't be afraid to ask someone!

Krispy Kreme Brulee

Chef Rodney Freidank elevates the humble doughnut to new heights
From Greenville, South Carolina's Table 301 executive chef Rodney Freidank

Ingredients:
6 Krispy Kreme glazed doughnuts
1 pint half-and-half
1 quart heavy cream
12 egg yolks
1½ cups sugar
8 packets Sugar in the Raw

Preparation:
Puree the doughnuts and half-and-half in a blender until smooth. Combine the heavy cream with the half-and-half/doughnut puree, and heat until scalding (just before boiling).

Meanwhile whisk the egg yolks and sugar in a bowl to combine and dissolve the sugar.

Once the sugar is dissolved, temper the yolk mixture by whisking in a small amount of the hot cream mixture. Once the yolks are tempered, whisk them into the remaining cream mixture. Strain the brûlée base through a fine mesh strainer.

Divide the mixture into eight ramekins. Fill until nearly full, and bake in a water bath at 325 degrees for approximately 30 minutes or until the custards are set when gently shaken. (Tip: For the water bath, we used a large metal roasting pan and filled it with enough water to meet the halfway-point of the ramekins.) Once set, remove the ramekins from the water bath to cool.  After cooling, dust the top of each with Sugar in the Raw, and caramelize evenly with a kitchen torch or under the broiler until the sugar darkens and bubbles. Set aside to cool (2 to 5 minutes) before serving. This will allow the sugar to harden on top.

Local Tea Party Events - July 14 - 16

Now's the time to start taking action. You don't need to belong to a group - all you need to do is show up. If you're serious about reclaiming our Liberty and Independence, it's time to get in the game. Don't be like Obama - all talk - NO ACTION!

Saturday the 14th:

Door Blitz for the Romney campaign in Doylestown. We are gonna try to knock on all of the
"swing" voters in the Township. Meet at Bucks County GOP HQ at 10 am. Quick training session and then work in pairs to walk the neighborhoods. Blake Gober is heading this up. I met him at the KTP meeting this week and he is young - enthusiastic, and his mission is to unite local Tea Party groups and GOP - we ARE working toward the same cause: Fire Obama November 6th.

Look Out World: Laura Freed is Furious

Before Skippack 4th of July Parade - This is MY holiday!
I just want to say I'm FURIOUS. There are a ton of tea parties around this area.
I marched in the Skippack parade with - you know how many other Tea Party people? 6.
Obama had about 25 marchers and a life size cutout of the King, himself.
You know how many Tea Parties sent me out a message asking me to march in the local parades?
NONE.
NONE.
NONE.
It was dumbluck that I heard about this parade - it was tossed out as an idea at the Citizens For Liberty meeting by someone who was going to be in the parade riding in an Antique car and myself and a few other people from Citizens From Liberty jumped at the opportunity. We were joined by two ladies from the CentralMontco Tea Party.
Citizens For Liberty and 2 Patriots from Central Montco
Tea Party Patriots.
The Tea Party should have OWNED the 4th of July. OWNED IT.
I've been visiting local Tea Parties to make connections and get involved.
Well, it's NO WONDER liberals own the state of Pennsylvania.
The Tea Party here is so disconnected, disjointed, and almost NONE of them use social media to connect, promote, or fight the left.
I was so furious after the parade, it fueled me to create 76PAtriots.com - the first Social Media Tea Party of Pa - it will help unite local patriots to fight the Left, fight for the return of our liberty, and help people find local events/rallies. You don't have to join a group to join the fight for liberty. But if you got some balls and enthusiasm, these local groups need new life!! Except for the Citizens For Liberty Group - they are FIRECRACKERS! If you're looking for a great outgoing group in Montgomery County - look no further!

I also created 76Bandits.com - the first National Social Media Tea Party. After reading Radical Rules for Conservatives by David Kahane - I realized as much as I'm doing to help with the fight to save America - I'm not doing enough. And we can't fight the left by continuously taking their punches and being worried about "offending them" (which is exactly what they want!). Winning in Nov means getting involved in Social Media - it means being BOLD, BRAVE, AND BALLSY. 76Bandits if for patriotic "outlaws" - those who don't observe the usual rules (because look how that's working for America). 76Bandits will steal back our Liberty from Obama - from Big Government, Big Media, and Big Hollywood.

We should be fighting EVERY SINGLE DAY, and with Social Media, you can belly up to the computer in your Red White and Blue PJ's, stick a bag of Cheetos on your desk, and get to work. If you don't have 5 minutes a day to fight for America - you might as well turn in your gun and flag now.

Watermelon Margaritas You Can Eat (2 Recipes)

2 Recipes for Watermelon Margaritas you can eat! One very simple watermelon margarita recipe. One watermelon margarita recipe that's a bit sweeter and a tad more work.

1 small seedless watermelon quartered and cut into 1-inch-thick wedges
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup tequila
1/4 cup Triple Sec
2 limes, halved
Flaked sea salt or coarse salt

Arrange watermelon in a single layer in two 9-by-13-inch baking dishes. Bring sugar, water, tequila, and Triple Sec to a boil in a small saucepan. Cook, stirring, until sugar dissolves, about 1 minute. Let cool slightly. Pour syrup over watermelon wedges, and refrigerate for at least 45 minutes.
Remove watermelon from syrup, and arrange on a platter. Squeeze limes over melon, and season with salt.

Montgomery County Tea Party Protest Assaulted With Racist Accusations

A few members from the group Citizens for Liberty attended a peaceful Tea Party rally & were confronted by an misinformed angry man who jumped out his car & started shouting that the peaceful group were "RACIST MOTHERF***ERS" because they were protesting the ObamaCare Law & Big Gov't. The police were called as some protesters were older and quite shaken up. If you watch this video all the way through, you'll see that the infuriated man is eventually calmed by the protesters as they begin a dialogue on the President and his failed policies. What we don't see captured on camera was that the man eventually apologized and shook hands - hopefully he has a better understanding about the Tea Party and our mission to hold Government (all Government) accountable and reduce the size and intrusiveness of government.
If you're looking for a very active, youthful group with a Tea Party/Libertarian infusion, I can attest Citizens For Liberty is a great group! XO- Laura
